Five reps may exit in DAP polls


GEORGE TOWN: At least five Penang DAP assemblymen may end up as casualties in the state party elections today.
Insiders said a number of talented young leaders could make the cut at the expense of the assemblymen.
A total 88 candidates are eyeing the 15 seats. There are 10 assemblymen in the 20-member committee. Five are appointed.
They include Padang Kota assemblyman Chow Kon Yeow, who is the state chairman, and Sungai Puyu assemblyman Phee Boon Poh.
Penang has 19 DAP assemblymen but only three have declined to contest in the state DAP election.
